Events & Fundraisers

Fundraisers

Our fundraisers are designed to create community while also raising critical funds to support students.

Will Rogers Fund

Our annual direct donation drive is our biggest fundraiser, and the best way to make a direct impact! Donations are tax-deductible, and help raise critical funds for our students. Help us reach our school wide goal - donate online or by sending a check (made to "Will Rogers PTA") or cash to the main office at school.

Book Fair

Everybody loves Book Fair! Held twice a year in the fall and the spring, our Book Fair is a wonderful way to inspire students to read, and directly support the Will Rogers Learning Community library. Visit our Book Fair to browse age-appropriate reading choices, popular titles and teacher favorites.

Grown-Ups' Night Out

& Auction

This fun evening event is a wonderful opportunity for parents and staff to have some fun while raising money for our school. Featuring dinner, live music and exciting auction with donations from local businesses, this fall fundraiser brings our community together in support of students. We can't do it without the help of our school community; learn more about how you can help solicit donations we can include in our auction.

Student Store

Visit our Student Store most Fridays at the main entrance. Check out our T-shirt designs and other merchandise on our webpage.

As our annual spring fundraising activity, Jog-a-Thon is an exciting school-wide event; every student and every class joins the fun! Students ask family and friends to pledge a donation to support their participation, and on the day of Jog-a-Thon students jog, walk, or move to earn money for our school.

Shop & Support

Do you shop with Ralph's or Krogers, or love Box Tops products? Help raise money for our school just by shopping as usual. To connect to our school and help us earn a small percentage back from your purchases from your visit to Ralphs or Kroger Stores, visit https://www.ralphs.com/account/communityrewards/, sign into your Ralphs.com account and search for Will Rogers PTA.

Programs & Community Events

We work hard to provide programs and events that help build community and enrich the experience of students and families.

Welcome Back Pinic

Join other WRLC families for a fun and informal way to welcome everyone back to school. Bring your own picnic and a water bottle and enjoy some great company. Usually held the first Friday back to school.

Staff Appreciation

We love our teachers and staff at Will Rogers, and we love to show them our appreciation by providing something special on our designated days during the year, and during National Teacher Appreciation Week in May.

5th Grade Activities

5th grade is a special year as we prepare to send students on to middle school! PTA helps to plan fun activities for the final months of school including a dance, a fun activity, and a memory book.

Movie Night

Usually held twice a year in the fall and the spring, Movie Night is a fun evening event for the whole family!

Feeding Rogers Families

Helping families with food insecurity, volunteers sort and distribute food to ensure all students have access to food when there is a need.

Career Day

Guest speakers from a variety of companies visit classrooms to share information about their workplace, their job, and the education and skills that are required for success in their career.

Family Dance

Bring the family and join the fun for our Spring Family Dance, with music, sweet treats and lots of dancing!

PTA Reflections

Art Program

A national PTA program, students are invited to create original works of art in the areas of Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography and Visual Arts. Based on State PTA rules and guidelines, these works of art may be submitted for state and national level awards and recognition opportunities.

Bike It Walk It

In a partnership with the City of Santa Monica and the Safe Routes to School Program, SMMUSD schools encourage as many students as possible to bike, walk, skate, scoot, or ride the bus to school on desigated days. Teachers participate by counting the number of kids who participate in a districtwide competition to see who can get the most.

Mildred's Garden

A long-standing tradition at our school, Mildred's garden was the first chance our students had to do some hands-on gardening, before the farm. Now maintained by volunteers, Mildred's Garden is a wonderful space on campus.

Campus Beautification

Twice a year, volunteers band together to pull weeds, plant, and improve the campus with our Beautification Committee!

Yearbook

Thanks to the work of volunteers, our families have the opportunity to purchase a yearbook in the spring to commemorate the school year.

School Events Supported by PTA

We work hard to provide programs and events that help build community and enrich the experience of students and families.

STEM Expo

Will Rogers is a STEM-focus school and we love our STEM expo family night! Teacher-led activities and star-gazing are the highlights of this event.

Family Talent Show

The annual Family Talent Show showcases the many talents of our students at Will Rogers, and family members are welcome and encouraged to attend. Typically held the last Friday before the school year ends.

Cinco de Mayo

This 40+ year tradition continues at Will Rogers with music, fun activities and carnival games, music and a cultural celebration!

5th Grade Culmination

PTA assists the school with planning and decorations for the 5th grader culmination ceremony at the end of the school year.

Regenerative Farm

Volunteers are a critical part of the success of our unique regenerative farm.

School Tours & Kindergarten Activities

Welcoming kindergarten students and prospective families is important to Will Rogers and our volunteers.

...and that's not all!

The PTA at Will Rogers provides support throughout the year through the events and programs listed above, but also in many other ways in the forms of classroom volunteers, room representatives, enrichment opportunities and funding for grants, scholarships, field trips and much more.
