Join PTA $10

PTA membership just $10 per person, and we encourage the whole family to join!

From our PTA President

On behalf of the Will Rogers Parent Teacher Association (PTA), it is my pleasure to welcome our wonderful community to the 2023-24 school year!

To our new families, we look forward to meeting you and hope you will join us at our first PTA meeting of the year on September 6 at 6 p.m., so that we can introduce ourselves, share with you what PTA does at Will Rogers, and help you get connected with other parents and teachers at the school. To our returning families, welcome back, and we hope to see you at the September 6 PTA meeting, too!

What is PTA and what does it do?

Founded in the late 1800s, PTA is the oldest and largest volunteer child advocacy association in the U.S. PTA exists at the national, statewide, regional, school district, and individual school site levels. Through advocacy and family and community education, National PTA has established programs and called for legislation that improves our children’s lives, such as: creation of kindergarten classes, child labor laws, arts in education, and school safety. At Will Rogers Learning Community, your PTA is committed to our school through advocacy, volunteerism, community-building, and raising funds to support the work of our teachers and the education of our students as well as strengthen the connection between home and school.

How can I support our school and PTA?

There are so many ways for families to get involved and volunteer – everyone has a strength they can offer to benefit our great school community! At this time, I encourage every parent to renew your annual PTA membership or become a new member by visiting our website at www.willrogerspta.com (other family members and friends can join, too!). While you’re there, you can find more information about the various ways your membership makes a difference, and how you can contribute by making a direct donation to the Will Rogers Fund and asking your employer if they do a corporate matching gift. While PTA does not exist as a fundraising organization, we accomplish many of our goals of child advocacy, school support, and family engagement through funds donated to PTA directly from Will Rogers families.

How can I get involved?

As a Will Rogers parent/guardian, you play a critical role in the success of your child’s school! The work of your PTA does not get done magically; it occurs when parents like you come together to volunteer in PTA leadership positions, communicate and carry out PTA’s mission and goals, plan and help host events, and encourage your fellow Will Rogers parents/guardians to do the same!

I look forward to working with you to make this year a memorable one for our students!  I want to thank you in advance for your partnership as we move forward.  Here’s to a great 2023-24 school year!

What We Do

Our mission is to positively impact the lives of all children and families. At Will Rogers Learning Community, our PTA has a big impact on the school experience for our students. We provide school administration with valuable input about a variety of things happening at school, we supply classroom volunteers and teacher grants, run community-building family events, advocate for children locally and statewide, ensure frequent communication and cooperation between school and home, we work to raise funds to support our PTA goals as well as provide additional support for things that improve the school day for students.

Who We Are

Our PTA is a volunteer organization made up of parents, family members, teachers, staff and community members just like you who want to make a positive impact in the lives of students. We hope you will join our association! Our PTA executive board members are elected to coordinate the work of officers and committees of the association in order that the objectives may be promoted.
