From our PTA President
August 18, 2022
On behalf of the Will Rogers Parent Teacher Association (PTA), it is my pleasure to welcome our wonderful community to the 2022-23 school year!
To our new families, we look forward to meeting you and hope you will join us at our first PTA meeting of the year on September 7 at 6 p.m. in the Will Rogers library and via Zoom, so that we can introduce ourselves, share with you what PTA does at Will Rogers, and help you get connected with other parents and teachers at the school. To our returning families, welcome back, and we hope to see you at the September 7 PTA meeting, too!
As we emerge from the pandemic and find a “new normal” at school and in our own lives, I look forward to 2022-23 being a build-back year for PTA, where our school and family communities re-engage and reconnect with the return of more in-person events, where we welcome new friends from John Muir Elementary School to our Will Rogers family, and where we increase our PTA membership and volunteers. PTA is committed to Will Rogers through advocacy, volunteerism, community-building, and raising funds to support the work of our teachers and the education of our students. There are so many ways for families to get involved and volunteer – everyone has a strength they can offer to benefit our great school community!
At this time, I encourage every parent to renew your annual PTA membership or become a new member by visiting our website at www.willrogerspta.com. While you’re there, you can find more information about the various ways your membership makes a difference, and how you can contribute by making a direct donation to the Will Rogers Fund and asking your employer if they do a corporate matching gift. You can also discover how your participation in our fundraisers and events like our auction and Jog-a-Thon directly impacts our students and teachers and strengthens the connection between home and school. Your support of Will Rogers PTA and the Santa Monica Education Foundation will be critical as we re-engage as a school and parent community!
I look forward to working with you to make this year a memorable one for our students! I want to thank you in advance for your partnership as we move forward. Here’s to a great 2022-23 school year!
Thank You,
Sarah Wahrenbrock

Our mission is to positively impact the lives of all children and families. At Will Rogers Learning Community, our PTA has a big impact on the school experience for our students. We provide school administration with valuable input about a variety of things happening at school, we supply classroom volunteers and teacher grants, run community-building family events, advocate for children locally and statewide, ensure frequent communication and cooperation between school and home, we work to raise funds to support our PTA goals as well as provide additional support for things that improve the school day for students.
Who We Are
Our PTA is a volunteer organization made up of parents, family members, teachers, staff and community members just like you who want to make a positive impact in the lives of students. We hope you will join our association! Our PTA executive board members are elected to coordinate the work of officers and committees of the association in order that the objectives may be promoted.
